Western Digital's 250GB Caviar Blue internal hard drive uses a SATA (Serial ATA) port coupled with 16MB of onboard cache to achieve a fast 3.0 Gbps maximum data transfer rate. Caviar Blue is ideal for a wide range of storage uses including storage for music, movies, and video editing. The Caviar Blue line of internal hard drives utilizes NoTouch technology keeping the record head from ever touching the surface of the disk. This significantly reduces the wear on the recording media of the internal hard drive. Western Digital uses advanced algorithms, part of their IntelliSeek and WhisperDrive technology that streamlines the seeking of read/write actions keeping the drive cool and low on power consumption.
